Leah Clark
Vocals
Hi! My name is Leah Clark, and I was born and raised in Washington, NC. I have three beautiful children: Sam and Laurel are in the first and fourth grade at Washington Montessori, and Liam is a senior at WHS. I have been an accountant since 2010, started my own business in 2016, and now provide bookkeeping and payroll services to local small businesses. I also lead the ladies’ Bible study group at COGS.
I love COGS because it feels like coming home every Sunday. Whether the faces that surround you are familiar or not, we’re all family. It truly is a “come-as-you-are” kind of church, and you can be sure that the Holy Spirit is going to show up every time. I especially love singing and leading worship each week, because music has a way of touching hearts where spoken words alone may not be able to reach. It truly is a joy to serve this church!
Scott Giffin
Guitar, Vocals
Hello, I’m Scott Giffin. My wife, Jennifer, and our children—Kate, Tom, Emily and Erin—moved to Beaufort County in 2016. We’d lived in seven different states and one territory, the USVI, before coming to North Carolina. Moving like this was an adventure. I acquired new skills everywhere we lived. I’ve been a scuba instructor in the Caribbean, built houses in Montana, and led wilderness adventure camps in Wyoming. But I fell in love with sailing when we lived in the Virgin Islands.
I continue to love sailing and deliver boats whenever I can, and enjoy introducing others to the ocean on catamaran charters whenever possible. When I’m not doing that, I keep busy with other projects, like real estate development and the fuel polishing business that I run with my son, Thomas.
One constant in our family’s life over the years has been church. We moved to North Carolina to be close to extended family and the ocean, and we immediately started to look for a church home. It was so important to us that our children love the church we called home. COGS fits that bill! Our first Sunday at COGs we knew we’d found home. COGS is relaxed and kind, and the people we met instantly welcomed our family. More important, the spirit of the Lord is in this place. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to worship God here at COGS and to call this church home.
